“I don't paint what I see. I paint what begins to see through me.”

About Malena -

Malena Gamboa is a quiet observer of the world, often more interested in what arises between the lines than what’s spoken aloud. Her work—whether through brush, word, or still presence—is guided by a deep reverence for presence, impermanence, and the subtle art of becoming.

She creates as a way to deepen the listening — to hear not just with ears, but with her entire being. Her creative path is one of devotion—not to outcome, but to the process itself. A lifelong student of consciousness, interconnection, and the sacred ordinary, Malena's work is shaped by years of inner inquiry and a willingness to be changed by what she encounters.

Her paintings are not declarations, but invitations—thresholds into quiet states of awareness where reflection unfolds naturally. Her path is shaped by a confluence of integrative traditions: Vedantic stillness, integral theory, developmental insight, and contemplative wisdom drawn from mystical lineages. She weaves mysticism with grounded practice, honoring both the unseen and the deeply human. For Malena, these are not separate streams—they converge into a lived inquiry that reveals itself through art, presence, and devotion. She brings a soft gaze to complex patterns and holds art not as self-expression, but as self-emptying—a vessel through which something greater may speak.

Malena is a long-time practitioner of Transcendental Meditation and a member of the Integral Think Tank, where she continues to deepen her inquiry into consciousness, culture, and collective evolution. She is currently writing a novel and developing a holistic living program that supports independent living for individuals with special needs—rooted in dignity, community, and care.

For Malena, painting is a spiritual practice—an act of presence and attunement. She paints not to produce but to participate, play, and help others channel the flow of consciousness through their own creative emergence.

In all her work, Malena seeks not to be understood, but to offer a moment of stillness in a noisy world. A place to breathe. To feel. To remember..
